On a recent trip to Vienna I was fortunate to be able to visit one of Franz West’s former studios. It was very interesting to see a space that had been the base of Franz West’s sculptural production or at least the smaller, more manageable. There was not really anything to see… Most of the objects have found new homes.
This left a lot of the floor visible, a floor that had not exactly been protected from the rigors of production. Colourful paint splashes, drip and drops complete the floors‘ much trodden patina. I thought this might make for a nice silk scarf… JM
